Designing the landscape for a new home provides the opportunity to consider the architecture and site as one complete composition.

For this Moreland Hills residence, the landscape was designed to complement the scale and character of the home while creating a natural transition between the architecture and the surrounding property. Strong landscape structure helps ground the residence within the site, while layered plantings soften the architecture and create depth, texture, and seasonal interest.

Careful attention was given to proportion, circulation, views, and the experience of approaching and moving through the property. Plantings and hardscape work together to frame the architecture rather than compete with it, allowing the home to remain the dominant element of the composition.

The result is a landscape that feels intentional and established—a property where the architecture and landscape read as though they were always meant to be together.
