Custom Landscape Designs:
Why pay for a landscape plan? Why not use the landscape
company down the street for your design needs; they seem
to do good work. The nursery says they will send a designer
to your house for a free consultation, why not use it? These
are all valid questions that for years have been asked of me.
The answer is generally simpler than those companies would
like you to believe. The answer is always conflict of interest.
When I used to work for the garden centers my drawings had
to include overstocked plant material we had. When I worked
for the landscape companies my drawings had to specify
material the installation crews were comfortable building.
Were these issues in the best interest of the homeowner?
